J&C Contractors (UK) Ltd are one of the only 2 contractors in greater Manchester and the northwest that are authourized to remove the main cut out that enters the property. It is ILLEGAL and extremely DANGEROUS for any electrician who is not trained, qualified and authourised to remove these, with 99.9% of electricians in the northwest and uk doing so everyday.
We as a company and with the blessing of the DNO have a mission to install these in every property , we are currently working very closely with various housing associations in the northwest by installing these there own electricians can safely carry out remedial works. As the regulations are changing we will be fitting double pole isolators with surge protection built in, as any new safety circuits ie smoke detectors installed from the 27th September 2022 should be covered by a surge protection.
By installing a double pole isolator with surge protection it will mean that in a lot off cases the consumer unit wont need changing as most units don’t have the space to accommodate one it also means that if any works need carrying out any electrician carrying out the repairs can safely do so.
Once these isolators are installed we will reseal the cut out, meter and isolators with our sealing pliers which have our own personal identification number on meaning that the DNO will know exactly which operative has carried out the install and you will also know that from the date of install that everything is sealed and this will help prevent theft of electricity.
